In the USA alone it has been estimated that at least 210,000 patients died from medical mistakes in a year making this the third leading cause of death while heart disease is the first and cancer comes second. 

Can the above figure be used to expose the corruption in medicine? 

The reason why it has taken so long to realise that something is not right and why so many still don’t see that anything is going on can be explained like this: 

On the whole, people: healthcare workers or patients or the public at large, can regard many circumstances in medicine as isolated cause and effect relationships. In other words, people generally fail to make the connections between the different cause and effect relationships. 

The Connections linking medical deaths and corruption

It is necessary to make the connections so that we can step back and see the ‘big picture’ of what’s really going on and why certain things occur: If not, then indeed, this can be likened to the analogy of looking at separated pieces of jigsaw puzzle and not having the realisation that they are somehow all connected and therefore not carrying out the task of joining up the pieces to see how it works overall. 

-Such has happened in the circumstances surrounding deaths from medical mistakes. This is why the corruption still continues and how the villains are allowed to get away with it. The big picture and the corruption comprise the connections between: The World Health Organisation, approval bodies such as the FDA, pharmaceutical companies, equipment manufacturers, academia, research institutions, media, the legal profession, healthcare staff and patients. -All these can be tied in with ‘favours for favours…’

Nothing stays the same. If everyone was concerned enough to get a deep enough level of realisation of what’s really going on in medicine by connecting up the circumstances or pieces of information to find that they are interrelated (the big picture), then consequently, there would be a mass transformation of the healthcare system. This would eventually be brought about by the reactions that would follow from realising the corruption.

-This mass transformation is my vision: To see a major turnaround of the healthcare system, where treatment will be based on a genuine want to cure people. Where people are put before profits, instead of the reverse; the way it is at the moment.

 

It is also the visions of other activists and dissident Doctors, growing in numbers by the day. I would say that one of the biggest reasons why more and more people are realising that they are caught up in a scandal in medicine is through the availability of the internet and its access to information that would otherwise be very difficult to get. I also find that, in some of my discussions with people, I can see that their intuition has been already telling them that something is not right in the world of medicine… 

I predict that, in time, whether it will take a few years or many decades I don’t really know, but we will have a revolution on our hands. The healthcare system will change. I have no doubt that it will be a radical change.

 

Western world medicine should be truly outstanding considering the money spent, but it is not, as exemplified in the above must see video featuring an impassioned talk by Doctor Joe Mercola with jaw-dropping facts and figures:

Are deaths from medical mistakes THE biggest cause of death and suffering? 

Every time deaths from medical mistakes (or deaths from medicine) are re-estimated, taking other factors into consideration the figure increases. Will we ever get a true figure?

Over the last few decades, the more technology that has been introduced into orthodox medicine be it, drugs, state-of-the-art equipment, apparatus, technical expertise…the more unnecessary procedures there are. I’m not for one minute saying that all technology is bad, but a lot of it can do a great deal of harm.

(NaturalNews) In a refreshing change of pace, an established doctor has shed light on the fact that many mainstream medical approaches designed to improve health aren’t what they’re cracked up to be. In fact, they’re downright ineffective.

While this hardly comes as a surprise when you consider the plethora of side effects that come with pharmaceuticals, and that they alter the minds of those who take them, what is surprising is that a medical professional has boldly dared to come forward to publicly expose a medical scam.

Dr. Dwight Lundell, a heart surgeon and retired Chief of Staff and Chief of Surgery at Banner Heart Hospital in Mesa, Arizona, has made no qualms about pharmaceuticals’ ineffectiveness and the need to let go of commonly held medical beliefs. In particular, he’s put statins in the spotlight, saying that the cholesterol-lowering drugs wreak havoc on health.(1)

Heart surgeon: Current heart health methods and recommendations “not working”

His comment deserves reading:

As a heart surgeon with 25 years experience… today is my day to right the wrong with medical and scientific fact.

I trained for many years with other prominent physicians labeled “opinion makers.” Bombarded with scientific literature, continually attending education seminars, we opinion makers insisted heart disease resulted from the simple fact of elevated blood cholesterol. The only accepted therapy was prescribing medications to lower cholesterol and a diet that severely restricted fat intake. The latter of course we insisted would lower cholesterol and heart disease. Deviations from these recommendations were considered heresy and could quite possibly result in malpractice. It Is Not Working!

These recommendations are no longer scientifically or morally defensible.(1)

His thought-provoking statements reinforce what many have believed all along: The conventional medical system is not working. Yet ties to deep pockets and behind-the-scenes ulterior business motives – which are common in the mainstream medical world – keep the industry going. The business of sickness is a profitable one.

For example, statin drugs recently came under even more scrutiny than normal after scientists at Tulane University in New Orleans produced more evidence that they are far from healthy. It was determined that they accelerate the aging process, render many of the body’s cells unable to carry out essential functions and can lead to liver dysfunction, memory loss, cataracts and diabetes.(2)

Lying for profit: Telling healthy people they are anything but

Heart health and the pharmaceutical inadequacies surrounding it aren’t the only medical issues coming under fire. When it comes to cancer, chemotherapy-for-profit scams abound. Sadly, there are many bad apples in the medical bunch who think it’s acceptable to tell healthy people that they have cancer when they don’t, even going so far as to administer treatments.

One such doctor is Michigan oncologist Dr. Farid Fata, who pleaded guilty to 16 counts of healthcare fraud and misdiagnosing patients. He repeatedly misinformed patients that they needed chemotherapy when they did not. Some family members of his patients even noted a sense of desperation; one son recalls the time his father was met by Dr. Fata’s staff curbside, at which point they proceeded to give his deteriorating father treatments as he sat in his car in a parking garage.(3)

Not so pretty in pink: Cancer scams also a disgrace

The cancer scams have long-been a disgrace to society, with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation at the forefront of such deceit and wrongdoing. As reported by alternative media sites, their partnerships with mammogram manufacturers and pharma companies mean – guess what – it’s not really your health, but the financial partnerships they’ve forged, that truly matter. All of that, tied up in a neat little pink bow and perhaps a matching pink shirt to match, to make you feel good about donating to a cause.(4)

Then there’s the whole debacle with mammograms. While women flock to them in droves based on the ingrained (brainwashed?) belief that they’re life-saving devices, the reality is that many times the method fails to properly differentiate between invasive and non-invasive cancers. As such, many women undergo energy-zapping, drawn-out procedures that forever alter their health, or even lead to their death.(5)

So, kudos to Dr. Dwight Lundell for speaking up.

Everyone deserves good health, not false promises and scams that create the opposite effect.

When the new health care bill takes full effect in 2014, the nation may experience a great shortage of doctors and decisions for treatments could take a minimum of six months for approval or denial. Beginning with the basics is the best and easiest starting point. Scratches. Scrapes. Gashes. Bruises. They all have one thing in common, bleeding or hemorrhaging.

A styptic is a substance that is applied externally to stop “localized” bleeding or hemorrhaging. “Localized” would be like a razor nicking or cutting the skin but not so deeply that a tissue or rag becomes soaked and/or dripping with blood. Basically, this would be like a minor injury with a normal amount of blood being produced in conjunction with the size of the wound. A “hemorrhage” is when a large quantity of blood, or heavy bleeding from a vessel which carries blood, is produced. This would be like cutting into muscle tissue and bleeding a lot but with application of pressure the flow will begin to slow down and eventually come to a halt, unless the severed tissues are disturbed before they have completely mended back together.

Nature offers many styptic herbs which are useful for stopping bleeding. For example, Witch Hazel (Hamamelis virginiana) treats cuts and scrapes. Consumers have the option of stocking up on this medicinal herb because many stores carry it in a bottled liquid extract which is generally used straight from the bottle. Those with salve or ointment know-how may decide to mix one part extract into nine parts lard, shortening, coconut oil or another carrier oil for application to skin.

Bistort (Polygonum bistorta) rootstock applied directly on the skin in powdered form is a very good remedy for wounds because it has come to be known as powerful for it’s ability to halt bleeding.

Omega-3 fats again vindicated in the prevention of cardiovascular disease and chronic illnesses

(NaturalNews)  Reports have been circulated that are designed to debunk the thousands of scientific research studies that show how the long-chain fats dramatically lower the risk of developing cardiovascular disease and dying from a heart attack.

Monster drug giants benefit by pushing their ineffective prescription medications that at best, mask symptoms of disease and do little to treat those vascular conditions that respond positively to Omega-3 fat enriched foods and fish oil capsules. A study team from the prestigious Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University has published the result of their work in the Journal of Lipid Research that demonstrates the critical nature of Omega-3 fats to human health.

The scientists found that omega-3 fatty acids (which include EPA, DHA and ALA), both from fish and supplements, do indeed help prevent heart disease and other conditions, despite widely publicized results with conflicting results. Lead study author, Dr. Donald Jump commented “After decades of studying omega-3 fatty acids, it’s clear that they have value in primary prevention of heart disease.”

Omega-3 fats benefit heart health, lower cancer risk and improve cognitive function

The authors cited studies performed in the early 1970s on native Inuit’s in Greenland who ate large amounts of fish and were found to have unusually low levels of cardiovascular disease. At the same time, deaths from heart disease and sudden cardiac mortality were peaking in many western cultures, where refined and processed convenience foods that were stripped of nutrients and fats in their natural form were replacing traditional home cooked meals.

The researchers determined that many studies in the past designed to determine how Omega-3 fats impact heart health have been performed using individuals with existing or advanced disease and taking one or more prescription medications that skew the effectiveness of the DHA and EPA components. By singling out studies on healthy individuals without heart ailments, the researchers were able to determine that Omega-3 fats accumulate preferentially in endothelial tissues to suppress inflammation and improve arterial elasticity, thus significantly lowering the risk of developing cardiovascular disease.

In addition to their proven benefit in preventing vascular disorders, the researchers concluded that Omega-3 fatty acids “have been shown to improve visual acuity and cognitive function and reduce dementia; reduce inflammation and perhaps some types of cancer, such as colon cancer and reduce total mortality.” They also found that plant-derived sources (such as walnuts, flax and chia seeds) have less benefit than those from cold-water fish, because of differences in how the human body processes these nutrients. Nutrition experts advise eating fatty fish two or three times a week or supplementing with a molecularly distilled fish oil to slash the risks associated with cardiovascular disease.

Beans, Beans, the Magical Fruit..

(NaturalNews) The more you eat, the lower your risk of certain cancers.

Beans have more servings of fiber than any other vegetable. One single serving will give you 20 percent of your daily-recommended fiber.

Researchers in Japan did a seven-year study. They studied more than 43,000 people between the ages of 40 and 79 that had high cancer rates and ate little fiber. The more fiber they got from beans, the lower the risk of colon cancer, especially in men, became. It was the bean fiber that impacted the colon cancer statistics more than any other source of fiber.

Other research indicates that the fiber in beans like garbanzo’s actually keep your body from absorbing carcinogens. When you take in fewer carcinogens, the less damage is done to your cells, tissues, and other organs. Less damage equates to lower cancer risk in the long run. It’s too bad that the same cannot be said for ingesting flesh foods.

Beans contain phytochemicals, which naturally fight cancer and free radicals, which ruin your cells and tissues through oxidation. The phytochemicals neutralize the free radicals before they do damage.

Greek researchers tested extracts from 11 different legumes (beans are legumes) and found that all of them neutralized free radicals. Not only that, but most of them also protected DNA from oxidative damage, which more or less explains the key to beans’ anti-cancer potential.

What about beans helping women thwart breast cancer? In a study of 90,000 young nurses, the ones who ate beans or lentils at least twice a week were less likely to develop breast cancer.

The experts assumed that the flavonols, again phytochemicals, block the free radicals, prevent oxidative damage to the cells, and encourage cancerous cells to die. All you have to do is to work at least two servings of beans and lentils into your weekly diet.

We all know there’s quite a fad about cutting carbs. If you are concerned, at all, about colon cancer, fagetaboutit.

The carbs in beans are a unique kind that the body cannot digest. As such, they wind up fermenting in your colon, thanks to the bacteria living in your gut. The fermentation produces a compound called butyrate that basically squashes inflammation and the abnormal cell growth that can lead to cancer. In addition, the indigestible carbs help give beans a low glycymic index, meaning a low risk of colon cancer. This is the super benefit of eating low glycymic index foods.

Theory leads to subjectivity. The researchers decided to put their theories to work. They took people that previously had colon polyps removed, changed their diets to include more cooked, dry beans, and after four years, those that ate the most beans were 65 percent less likely to see their polyps return.
All beans work, be it baked, pinto, kidney, navy, white, black, garbanzo, human (only kidding), or lima – all cut colon cancer risk. The more legumes that men eat the less likely they are to get prostate cancer. Three major studies found that eating lots of legumes, including beans, lentils, and split peas, dropped prostate cancer risk between 29 and 38 percent. If flesh foods are eliminated altogether, those percentages climb incredibly.

Another weapon against cancer is the folate found in B vitamins, which beans are a great source of. Eating high-folate foods reduces the risk of pancreatic and colon cancer. In addition, the folate helps to build and repair DNA. Too little leads to DNA damage and supplements will not provide the protection that folate-rich foods do.

But wait, there’s more. Bulking up with beans can help with type-2 diabetes in two ways:

1- As mentioned earlier, legumes have a lower glycemic index (GI). The GI measures how fast your blood sugar rises after eating a food. High GI foods make your blood sugar rise faster, whereas low-GI foods, like beans, cause a slower, more gradual rise. There are over 35 studies showing that diets filled with high-GI foods nearly double the risk of getting type-2 diabetes and make you 25 percent more likely to develop heart disease. High-GI foods create a spike in your blood sugar, causing your pancreas to release more insulin. So, eating high-GI foods creates a demand on your pancreas to produce more insulin. Eventually, the pancreas burns out and stops making insulin. This leads to diabetes.

2- Beans could be the single best food for weight loss. If you eat more beans despite eating more calories, you will weigh less than someone who does not eat beans and eats lower calories as well. Go figga?

If you are worried about developing type-2 diabetes, bear in mind that obesity is a major risk factor for type-2 diabetes. Not only do beans keep you slimmer, but you will get more fiber, more potassium, and you’ll eat less fat and added sugar. It’s a winning combination all across the nation.

But wait, there’s even more: high cholesterol, blood clots, insulin resistance, and oxidation all have a hand in heart problems. As an alternative to drugs and supplements, beans pit pennies against dollars.

If you took one third of a cup of black beans daily, you could cut your risk of a heart attack by 40 percent. If you ate that same one third of a cup four times a week, instead of one or none, you would be twenty two percent less likely to get heart disease.

Why would that be? Because the complex carbohydrates in beans lower the glycemic load in the meals. Then their unique combination of magnesium, copper, fiber, and alpha-linoleic acid will boost your insulin sensitivity, help prevent blood clots, and drop your risk of a heart attack. In addition, beans are an excellent source of protein, which helps to manage your weight.

If you have high cholesterol and want to take a walk on the wild side, eating half a cup of beans daily will improve your cholesterol numbers. And, if you are healthy, and you do likewise, you should experience at least a 10 percent drop in your cholesterol as well.

Remember the talk about phenols? These same phenols may also prevent hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis) because the flavonoids in beans are natural antioxidants. As such, they work against the free radicals before they can attack cholesterol and oxidize it. That’s important because oxidized LDL cholesterol contributes to atherosclerosis. Should butter be banned?

(NaturalNews) Butter has gotten a bad reputation in the health world for being high in saturated fat, which supposedly causes heart disease. Butter consumption in the United States has plummeted as a result of health experts’ butter condemnation. This is unfortunate, as butter is a bona fide health food due to its high vitamin content, butyrate levels, and abundant conjugated linoleic acid.

The doctor who wants to ban butter

 

Not everyone believes that butter is a health food though. Dr. Shyam Kolvekar is so adamantly against butter consumption that he believes the food should be banned. Dr. Kolvekar is quoted as saying, “By banning butter and replacing it with a healthy spread the average daily fat intake would be reduced by eight grams. People should also avoid any foods that are solid at room temperature like cheese and red meat.”

Dr. Kolvekar is misguided on multiple fronts, starting with the assertion that foods that are solid at room temperature are unhealthy. By this logic locally grown, organic broccoli would be unhealthy. Does he intend for us to drink all of our food?

Kolvekar is also misinformed about fat being harmful. Most health experts have realized that not all fats are unhealthy, but the majority still vilifies saturated fat as a nasty, disease causing nutrient.

Saturated fat is looked down upon mainly because of the work of Ancel Keys, a doctor who published influential fat-loathing work starting in the 1950s. Keys found correlations between fat and animal fat intake and heart disease in several countries and became famous for pointing those correlations out. However, correlations between fat and animal fat intake and heart disease did not exist in several other countries using data that was available when Keys vilified the macronutrient.

Besides his false belief that solid foods and saturated can be healthy, Dr. Kolvekar also fails to understand that butter actually has a lot to offer from a nutritional standpoint.

Butter’s many health benefits

Butter contains significant amounts of vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E, and vitamin K2 as well as butyrate and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA). The importance of sufficient vitamin levels are well stated and accepted in mainstream health circles, but the importance of butyrate and CLA are not as well known.

In various studies, butyrate has been shown to protect against mental illness, improve body composition and increase energy expenditure, decrease intestinal leakage, and reduce inflammation. CLA is important too, being associated with increased heart health, reduced tumor growth, decreased stomach fat, and increased fat loss in overweight subjects.

Not all butter is equally beneficial though; grass-fed butter contains superior health benefits. This is because grass-fed butter has higher vitamin and antioxidant levels, higher CLA levels, and a higher omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acid ratio.

Dr. Kolvekar advises against eating butter despite its extensive health benefits. Don’t be fooled, butter should not be banned.
