A waitress says she was fired from her job at Applebee’s after posting a note from a pastor who refused to tip, writing that “I give God 10% Why do you get 18.”

The waitress, who identified herself only as Chelsea, told The Consumerist that she originally posted the photo on the atheist section of social media website Reddit as a “lighthearted joke.”

“I thought the note was insulting, but it was also comical,” she explained. “I posted it to Reddit because I thought other users would find it entertaining.”

On the receipt she posted, Applebee’s computer system had added an automatic 18 percent gratuity because the dinner party had eight or more people. But the customer scratched out the $6.29 tip and wrote “0.” The receipt included a note about giving God 10 percent and a signature which indicated that the diner was a “pastor.”

“My mistake sir, I’m sure Jesus will pay for my rent and groceries,” Chelsea wrote on Reddit on Wednesday along with a photo of the receipt.

The waitress said that the she failed to redact the signature because she thought it was illegible, but Internet sleuths began using it to obtain the pastor’s identity.

Applebee’s Fires Waitress Who Posted Receipt from Pastor

And then there’s this…

The Applebee’s waitress who posted a receipt with a note from a pastor complaining about the automatic gratuity added to the bill on the Internet was fired on Wednesday after the pastor complained to her manager.

Chelsea Welch, the waitress, wrote in an email to Yahoo News that the pastor (who has since been identified as Alois Bell) told Welch’s manager at the St. Louis-area Applebee’s that the ensuing firestorm had “ruined” her reputation.

“I give God 10%,” Bell wrote on the receipt, scratching out the automatic tip and scribbling in an emphatic “0″ where the additional tip would be. “Why do you get 18?” (There were more than eight people in Bell’s party, triggering the auto-tip.)

Welch, who snapped a photo of the bill from a fellow server and uploaded to Reddit, defended her right to post the receipt. “I thought the note was insulting, but also comical,” she told “And I thought other users would find it entertaining.”

Sanctimonious Pastor Alois Bell – Applebees Customer – Outed as a cheapskate and demands all workers, employees, and managers fired !!

This story is not about leaving a waitress a tip, or the absence thereof.  It’s more about the institutional mindset of the BGI, the transendance of all other priorities in affirmation -and loyalty to- the BGI entrenched ideology [See also Colin Powell], and one participants response when their character and motivation is dragged to the sunlight.

Pastor Alois Bell now says she's sorry.Employees have on occasion been guilty of doctoring receipts to say offensive things. There was the Hooters receipt that referred to two Korean immigrant customers as “Chinx” (they filed suit), the Maryland RadioShack employee who called a customer an “ugly itch” on her receipt, from “ghettohood, usa.”

But customers can get creative on receipts too, as with the Applebee’s receipt that advised the server to “Stop eating b*tch!” And like the restaurant customer — purportedly a pastor — who scratched out the automatic 18 percent gratuity, and scribbled in: “I Give God 10% Why do you get 18,” according to a photograph recently posted to the online forum Reddit, and picked up by the Consumerist.

The self-described server who posted the photo said on the Reddit thread that the gratuity was only included because it was a table of 20, and only parties under eight can choose to tip how much they like. “It’s in the computer,” he writes, “it’s not something I do.”

UPDATE: After the receipt went viral, Pastor Alois Bell, of the St. Louis-based Truth in the World Deliverance Ministries, reportedly called up the Applebee’s and demanded that everyone involved — from servers to the managers –be fired, reports Gawker. While the entire staff wasn’t fired en masse, the waitress who posted the receipt to Reddit was canned.

Ben Bernake

If Patriots had a “most wanted” list, these people would be at the top of it.

The alleged crimes of this Dirty Dozen? Betraying the American people from within by wantonly dismantling the Constitution, collapsing the economy, and creating an encroaching police state that rewards the few and restricts the many. Each and every person on this list could rightfully be investigated for Treason against the United States of America.

This Gallery of Dishonor is by no means inclusive. It contains, in alphabetical order, some of the most despicable but certainly not all.

Meet the Patriot’s Most Wanted:

Ben Bernanke

Ben Bernanke, collapsing the economy since 2006. He became the Chairman of the Federal Reserve under Bush and has maintained his appointment under Obama (unusual in that a Republican appointment continued to serve under a Democrat president). Mr. QE-to-Infinity has recently received a license to print money indefinitely to institute the most recent round of Quantitative Easing, which Senator Ron Paul referred to as a “full-time counterfeiting operation”. Unfortunately the only ones eased by this are the members of the Big Banking Cartel –everyday folks need not apply. Under Bernanke’s leadership, the “too-big-to-fail” banks were financially bailed out, while the average American was left to flounder as housing values plummeted, mortgages were defaulted on and personal bankruptcies skyrocketed.

Michael Bloomberg

New York City’s very own soda pop Nazi, Mayor Michael Bloomberg has made a career out of micromanaging the lives of the citizens of the city. Bloomberg has decided that he must take control of the health of New York City residents and has done so by disallowing the sale of sugary beverages over 16 ounces. He also had NYC hospitals lock up baby formula and track when formula is dispensed in an effort to coerce new mothers to exclusively breastfeed. And speaking of new mothers, there have been numerous quiet sexual harassment lawsuits filed against Bloomberg by women under his employ, dating back to 1997, when a female employ described telling Bloomberg of an unplanned pregnancy, to which he allegedly responded “Kill it!” and “Great, number 16!” (Not treason, but saying that type of thing would certainly be indicative of a man’s character.) Back to treason, last summer, Bloomberg stated the NYPD officers should go on strike until the citizens voluntarily disarmed themselves. Under his “leadership” New York City has the strictest gun laws in the state, requiring permits, licensing and registration. This left the citizenry largely disarmed and unable to protect themselves in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Never one to let a good crisis go to waste, Bloomberg rounded up celebrities to put together a propaganda video calling out for even more gun control just days after the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

George W. Bush

It was under the watch of erstwhile President Bush that the largest terrorist act in American history took place in our own airspace on September 11, 2001. This inside job was rapidly followed by the “Patriot Act” – in truth the most unpatriotic legislation that had existed up to that point and the first serious blow suffered by the Constitution. The Patriot Act was rolled out to save America from terrorists, allowing surveillance and invasions of privacy without the hassle of pesky little inconveniences like probable cause and search warrants. Bush and 7 of his cohorts (Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and their legal advisers Alberto Gonzales, David Addington, William Haynes, Jay Bybee and John Yoo) were find guilty in absentia last year in Malaysia, convicted of war crimes, including torture and cruel, inhumane and degrading treatment in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Hillary Clinton

Long-suffering wife of former President Bill Clinton, former Senator from New York and current Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton has had a varied political career. Recently on the hook for the Benghazi massacre, in which 4 Americans lost their lives due to negligence, she has been in the hotseat numerous other times. A noted warmonger, she has been accused of lying to Congress about the Iraq War and Saddam Hussein, she has consistently expressed her belief that Iran is a nuclear threat to the United States and has been fingered by Wikileaks for ordering spying on UN Officials. Other possible lapses in integrity include allegations of lying to the FEC about contributions, the hiring of unsavory advisor Sandy Berger (a convicted felon) and substantial financial involvement with pharmaceutical companies, whose causes she champions.

Jon Corzine

Neck deep in government and banking, Jon Corzine was accused of using 1.6 billion dollars of customer money to cover his company’s shortfalls. Yes, 1.6 BILLION. Shortly thereafter, the company, MF Global filed for bankruptcy and that money has completely vaporized. A House Congressional hearing found the former New Jersey senator and governor at fault for the failure of the company, but he has managed to evade criminal charges. (Could that be related to the fact that Eric Holder’s former law firm represented Corzine’s now-defunct company?)

Firefighters and other workers dig for survivors Thursday, Jan. 31, after an explosion at the executive tower of Mexico’s state-owned oil company, Pemex, in Mexico City.

By Kari Huus, Staff writer, NBC News

A powerful explosion in the Mexico City skyscraper complex housing the headquarters of state oil monopoly Pemex killed at least 14 people and injured at least 100 others, company and government officials said.

News of the casualties came from Interior Minister Miguel Angel Osorio Chong, who spoke to Mexican television reporters after rushing to the scene. He said the death toll could rise, and by mid-evening,,the newspaper El Universal was citing official sources as saying at least 20 people had been killed.

Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto arrived at the Pemex administration complex by helicopter Thursday evening to supervise rescue operations, the news agency La Prensa reported. Hundreds of Mexican military forces were sent to the complex to “preserve security,” officials told El Universal.

The explosion took place in the basement garage of the auxiliary building of the Petrõleos Mexicanos complex, next to the company’s 52-floor tower in a busy commercial and residential area, according to Eduardo Sanchez, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry.

“Right now, they’re conducting a tour of the building and the area adjacent to the blast site to verify if there are any still trapped so they can be rescued immediately,” Sanchez said.

There were reports that as many as 30 people remained trapped in the debris from the blast, but NBC News hasn’t confirmed that information. Search-and-rescue dogs were sent into the skyscraper.

The main floor and the mezzanine of the auxiliary building were heavily damaged, along with windows as far as three floors up. The adjacent Pemex officer tower, where several thousand people work, was evacuated.

The ceiling of the basement was damaged, and the situation was dangerous, Reuters said, quoting a spokesman for local emergency services.

News of the blast came toward the end of the business day — just a few hours after the company had tweeted a message celebrating how much it had “reduced our accident rate in recent years”:

During the 2012 Presidential election, President Obama boasted about the third quarter growth of the America’s GDP, but the fourth quarter is a completely different story. The country experienced a decline in GDP in the last quarter for the first time since 2009 and many critics believe that somehow the Obama administration manipulated the data to come out victorious in the November election. Peter Schiff, president of Euro Pacific Capital, gives us his take on how the government could have played with numbers.

Wall Street was little changed after data showed that jobless claims increased last week, just one week after jumping to a five year low, but data also showed that consumer spending in U.S. rose in December as incomes grew by the most in eight years.

Jonathan Corpina, Senior Managing Partner at Meridian Equity Partners, will weigh in about the mixed data and what effect the increase in taxes will have on consumer spending in the coming months.

Data showed the number of Americans filing new claims for unemployment benefits increased to 368,000 last week, bouncing off five-year lows in the prior week and exceeding an estimated 350,000, pointing to modest improvement in the labor market.

The claims data comes ahead of Friday’s (February 1) payrolls report, which is expected to show employers added 160,000 jobs in January after an increase of 155,000 in December.
A separate report showed incomes rose by 2.6 percent in December, the most in eight years, in a positive sign that could propel the economy forward.

After the “fiscal cliff” crisis in Congress was avoided, many were expecting tax hikes just for the wealthy, but the expiration of a temporary payroll tax cut hit primarily middle- and low-income consumers.

As paychecks across the country have shrunk over the last month due to higher federal tax rates, there’s concern that workers are already cutting back on spending, which will drag on the economy in 2013.

After Congress managed to avert the “fiscal cliff,” the Dow Jones industrial average was on track to have its best January since 1989.

The Dow Jones Economic Sentiment Indicator increased to its highest reading since April 2012, and the gain in the ESI suggests growth is picking up in the first half of 2013 after the U.S. economy stalled in the fourth quarter.

Israeli settlements in the Occupied West Bank violate international law, and the country must “immediately” withdraw all settlers from such areas, UN human rights investigators have said.

Israel has not co-operated with the inquiry, set up by the Human Rights Council (HRC) last March to examine the impact of settlements in the territory, including East Jerusalem.

“Israel must … cease all settlement activities without preconditions [and] must immediately initiate a process of withdrawal of all settlers” from the occupied territories, the fact-finding mission concluded in a report released on Thursday.
